Popo Knows Best
Welcome to Po. Named after Popo, the Chinese word
for grandmother, Po is a heartfelt tribute to the flavours that raised us. Rooted in Singapore’s rich multicultural heritage, our menu draws from recipes passed down through generations, made from scratch with
locally sourced ingredients and prepare using
time-honoured techniques.
Each dish is a heartfelt expression of tradition
and holds a deep sense of home.
Meet Po’s Head Chef, Desmond Yong — a storyteller through food, deeply rooted in his Hakka and Peranakan heritage. From a young age, he watched his grandmother prepare every meal with love, absorbing the rich flavors and heartfelt traditions of his family’s humble kitchen. and that’s where it all began.
With over a decade of experience, Desmond’s culinary journey has been shaped by the vibrant palette of his childhood and his travels across Southeast Asia. Rising from hawker stalls to fine dining restaurants, he brings a deep appreciation for diverse cultural flavours to Po’s next chapter, creating dishes that offer both comfort and a fresh perspective.
